Jordan Hawkins is an American college basketball player. He is currently playing for the team UConn Huskies of the Big East Conference. Jordan is a star player and gained a lot of fame through his excellent game skills. He is the second lead scorer for the Huskies in the NCAA Tournament 2022-2023.

Jordan Hawkins was born on April 29, 2002, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. His father is Craig Hawkins and his mother is Jasmine Hawkins. He has three sisters, two older sisters Chynna and Alexis, and a younger sister Paris. Jordan attended Gaithersburg High School initially and then transferred to DeMatha Catholic High School in his sophomore year. He started playing basketball in high school. As a kid, he was always interested in sports.
His parents encouraged him to take up basketball in high school. He is a dedicated player. His hard work and his love for basketball made him one of the best players in his school. In his senior year, he was named the Maryland Gatorade Player of the year. His average was 19.7 points, 3.7 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 11.4 rebounds. He received offers from several universities such as Xavier, Seton Hall, and Louisville but he chose UConn over others.

Jordan began his basketball career right in high school. First, he was on Gaithersburg High school’s basketball team. He played his first two years at Gaithersburg. Then he got transferred to DeMatha Catholic High school and joined the team under coach Mike Jones. His amazing gameplay caught the attention of several college recruiters. He continued to make his game better. He played several matches under coach Angel Hernandez. In his senior year, he was named All WCAC’s first team. He was also mentioned as the Washington Post All-Met First team and was a nominee for McDonald’s All-American in high school.

He joined the University of Connecticut and began his college basketball career. He currently plays as a shooting guard for the Huskies. In his freshman year, he appeared in 27 games with an average of 5.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per match. By the end of the season, he had played seven double-figure scoring matches. His season high was against the team Auburn, a nationally ranked team. Jordan also suffered from several injuries in his freshman year.
Despite all the injuries he had a great performance which made him a consensus top-50 recruit. His impressive performance led the team to be named the BIG EAST All freshman team.
